HTC One Smartphone Comes with All-metal Body, a Snazzy Camera, Improved Audio and Other Powerful Features

HTC Corp. on Tuesday unveiled its latest smart phone – the HTC One, an Android device that comes with all-metal body, snazzy camera, improved audio, impressive UI and other powerful features. Frankly speaking, this year will be a critical one for HTC, which needs to prove that it can still compete in the increasingly duopolistic market and compete with the best smartphone offerings from Apple, lG, Nokia and Samsung. HTC hopes to change that reality with the new flagship HTC One which will be available soon.

All-metal Body Design: HTC’s design and software teams did their jobs in creating an attractive, unique, and premium-feeling phone, taking Apple’s love for metal construction and taking it to the next logical progression.

Impressive Display: It features a dazzling 4.7-inch 1080p HD Gorilla Glass display. The result is a pixel-dense LCD panel that looks gorgeous and outclasses Apple’s Retina Display by a mile

Snazzy Camera: The HTC One camera is called the HTC UltraPixel Camera, it has an F2.0 aperture and 28mm lens, and can capture full 1080p video, We were told that the camera is capable of capturing 300% more light so that it works better in low-light conditions.

Improved Audio: The HTC One comes built with two front-facing stereo speakers, along with a dedicated amplifier and Beats Audio, from what I could tell, the phone could indeed have a better volume level than the typically terrible sound that most smartphones have.

High-performing Processor: The phone will ship with a quad-core 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, producing smooth and speedy running experience.

Snappy UI: Special emphasis was put on the new home screen interface, called HTC BlinkFeed, the BlinkFeed home page does look rather impressive: three large rectangular windows showed various graphic presentations of news, video, etc.

Operating System: The HTC One is not running the latest build of Android (4.2), but a version released earlier in 2012 (4.1). However it is good enough for common usage.

Long Battery: It is powered by a 2300 mAh Li-Poly battery, which should be enough to get full-day use out of the phone.

Price and Availability: HTC expects to start selling the phone worldwide in March at more than 85 mobile operators. In the U.S., the list includes AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile, but notably not Verizon Wireless, which recently launched HTC’s Droid DNA phone. Reportedly, prices will be $199.99 for the 32GB model and $299.99 for the 64GB model; however, that hasn’t been confirmed.

With its One X, HTC made one of the finest smartphones of 2012. Unfortunately, the device’s limited availability and lackluster marketing kept it from achieving mainstream success — particularly next to near-ubiquitous competitors like Samsung’s Galaxy S III. Now is HTC on the right path to success with the forthcoming HTC One? We will pay a great attention when the phone actually goes on the market.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Officially Announced Today, Shipping in April and May

Samsung officially unveiled the long-awaited Galaxy S4 at a large event at Radio City Music Hall in New York City today, the phone includes a number of upgrades from the Galaxy S 3, which has surged to become the bestselling Android phone on the market and the leading competitor to Apple’s iPhone.

Better than Galaxy S3 (Specs Comparison)

The Galaxy S4 handset steadily draws from the same design language as the S3, but takes almost every spec to an extreme — the screen is larger (5 inches), the resolution greater (1080p), the battery capacity higher (2,600mAh), the processor faster (1.9GHz quad-core or 1.6GHz octa-core), and the rear-facing camera stuffed with more megapixels (13, to be exact).

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, Touch Wiz

The Galaxy S4 runs none other than Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, the most up-to-date version of Android you can get right now. Riding on top of it as usual is Samsung’s Touch Wiz overlay, a customized interface that I, for one, think is getting a little long in the tooth.

Air View and Gestures

You can not only hover with a fingertip, but also wave or wipe your whole hand in front of the screen (and camera sensor) to navigate around. Hover your finger or wipe your whole hand, you can preview a video clip or image from the photo gallery, glance at browser tab thumbnails, find your place on a video timeline, and check out an e-mail. Flipboard has built a customized app to work with Air View, which lets you hover over a tile to see which articles lie beneath.

IR Blaster as Remote Control

Samsung has put an IR blaster on its phone so you can use it as a remote control for your TV. With the software you can see images of upcoming programs and control a DVR.

S Health Scale

The companion wireless scale that looks quite a bit like the Fitbit Aria is just one part of the larger S Health equation which also includes a Jawbone Up-like monitor (S Band). The scale of course sync with the baked in S Health app over Bluetooth, which makes it quite a bit easier to track how that diet of yours is going. In addition to simply tracking your total poundage, there will be bands for tracking heart rate and the S 4’s various sensor can help judge the comfort level of your environment.

Amazing 13-megapixel Camera

Samsung has also made vast improvements to its camera technology. The Galaxy S4 has a built-in 13-megapixel camera, up from the Galaxy S III’s 8-megapixel sensor, which uses new camera functions Dual Shot, Eraser, Drama Shot, and Sound & Shot. Dual Shot allows you to capture images from both the front and rear cameras simultaneously

S Translate

The Galaxy S4 ships with S Translate, a baked-in realtime translator that supports 9 different languages. The new S Translate feature offers real-time translation – simply type the question in English and it will translate it audibly. It can do the same thing in reverse, so that when you receive an answer it will translate it and present you with the answer as text.

Pricing and Availability

Samsung plans to stagger releases worldwide in April and May. In the U.S., Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Cricket Wireless will all get the Galaxy S4 (along with Sprint MVNO Ting). Samsung hasn’t yet shared plans for other countries.

Since it differs by region and by carrier, Samsung hasn’t announced the price yet, but you can expect comparable pricing in your area for the GS3.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Launch Event Video  for Reference

Samsung has made sure to include every salient hardware spec and enough new and interesting software features to Galaxy S4 to hold your attention. Will it be the greatest potential winner in 2013? Stay tuned for more details!

Sony Xperia Z vs. Samsung Galaxy S4

Sony unveils its first big smartphone of the year – Sony Xperia Z at CES 2013 in Las Vegas. The Xperia Z is the company’s biggest smartphone launch thus far in 2013. It’s an attractive, well-built phone with some killer specs, but a device that’s sure to have some competition in the next couple of months. One of the devices it will encounter on the market is oft-rumored Samsung Galaxy S4, the device that will likely replace the Galaxy S3 as Samsung’s flagship later this year.

Display

Sony Xperia Z features a 5-inch 1080p Reality display with 1920 x 1080 resolution. That should translate into fantastic looking text, images and video. The display on the Galaxy S4 is expected to be a 1080p AMOLED display with 441 pixels-per-inch measuring in a 5-inch.

Camera

The photos we’ve seen snapped with the device were sharp and crisp and it should meet the demand from Xperia fans and average consumers. The Xperia Z also features a 2.2MP camera in the front which should work well for video chats.
With the Galaxy S4, Samsung is rumored to be including a 13MP camera which could mean an upgraded sensor. Paired with Samsung’s already fantastic software, we should see a better camera in the Galaxy S4 and maybe the best it has ever offered in a smartphone.
OS
The Xperia Z is going to be running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Samsung’s Galaxy S4 will also be running a version of Android though its version is unclear. Rumored are Android Jelly Bean, version unknown, and Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.

Other Specs:

The Xperia Z is also powered with a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory storage. A microSD card slot is available for extra storage capacity, and it comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 2330 mAh battery.Samsung Galaxy S4 is speculated to feature the Exynos 5 Octa quad-core processor that was also launched during the 2013 CES. The Galaxy S4 is also rumored to have a microSD card slot with expandable memory capacity as well as a removable battery feature.

Release Date
Like many products that were announced at CES, the Xperia Z was given a release window instead of an actual release date. Sony has said that the device will be launching globally in the first quarter of this year, which means that January, February and March are all candidates for a release date.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S4, it is rumored to potentially be coming at Mobile World Congress in February in Barcelona.
Price
UK retailer Clove says that it will be selling the device for £440 in the UK plus a VAT. Pricing in the United States is still a mystery though prior to the device’s launch, it was rumored to be coming unlocked to American consumers for $650, a typical price.
No pricing has been rumored for the Samsung Galaxy S4 but we imagine that it will likely come for a familiar $199.99, which was the same price that the Galaxy S3 debuted for across all carriers but T-Mobile.

The Christmas holiday is just approaching. Want to turn an average Christmas party into something really special this year? Apart from throwing out a traditional dance party, Christmas meal party, or a touching movie party, you can impress yourself by offering a variety of game choice for celebrating Christmas this year. We have several Christmas game ideas for successful Christmas parties. Hope it will get your Christmas spirit inspired!

Top 1 Treasure hunt
A game of Treasure hunt is perfect choice for Christmas party. You have to prepare adequate number of clues and leave marks on the ground to guide the players in treasure hunt. It requires at least one day’s full preparation. People of all gages can participate in this game and the treasure could be a prize, not necessarily costly, something motivating.

Top 2 Liar, liar
Get each of your guests to write down an interesting and previously unknown anecdote about themselves – either real or completely fictitious. And take it in turns to read them out to the assembled group. The group then questions the reader to try to ascertain whether they’re telling the truth or a lie. There could be a small prize for the best guesser and the best liar.

Top 3 Breaking the pot
Another popular game is breaking the pot. But it is more propriety for the senior citizens. You need to place an empty mud pot in the center of a flat ground. Tie a ribbon around the participant to blind his or her vision. Let the participant turn 360 degree for several times. Then make the participant stand still. Hand over a stick in the hands of the participant and ask him or her to locate the pot. You can place an interesting prize inside the pot. And any participant, who is successful in locating the pot blindfolded, will win the prize present inside the gift.

Top 4 Hidden meanings
Give each person in your party a piece of paper and a pen. Pass a dictionary around and let everyone choose several unusual words with obscure definitions. Get them to write down the correct definitions and make up two or three others, then take it in turns to read one of their words and definitions aloud and get everyone else to guess which is the correct one. You could have a small prize for the person who guesses the most correct definitions at the end of the game.

Top 5 Who am I?
Stick a sticky note with a famous person’s name written on it onto the foreheads of each of your guests and tell them they must guess who they are. They mustn’t have access to any mirrors and are not allowed to remove their notes to read who they’re supposed to be. This is a good conversation starter, as each guest must chat to the others to gain clues as to who they are! The last person wearing a sticky note is the loser and wins a booby prize or has to do a forfeit.

Interesting, right? Of course, besides the above 5 pop game ideas, there are other funny games preferred at parties, like running race, skipping and hopping, etc. just select the one that impress you the most, I am sure your Christmas sprit will be highly incited!
