Basketball Wives Season 3 Is Coming: Reveal the Unbeknown of Basketball Super Stars

Basketball Wives is a reality television series that premiered on the VH1 cable television network on April 11, 2010. Created by Shaunie O’Neal, the ex-wife of NBA center Shaquille O’Neal, the series follows the lives of a group of women who have all been somehow romantically linked to professional basketball players. The show is filmed in Miami, Florida. Season three will premiere May 30, 2011.

The third season of “Basketball Wives” is back Monday on VH1, and while some players might be frightened about what the ladies will say, the queen bee of the cast (which includes wives, ex-wives, girlfriends and ex-girlfriends) Shaunie O’Neal, says it’s all in good fun and nothing is changing. All you “Basketball Wives” fans can get ready for another season of catfights, man stealing, and pimp slaps, and chicks who aren’t married being called “wives.”

What’s new?

How about a brand new basketball wife? Meeka Claxton joins an already overcrowded cast as the wife of retired player and current scout Speedy Claxton. Meeka is a self-made businesswoman who also plays the role of mom to two young girls. Claxton has no ties to the current “Wives” so it’ll be interesting to see if and when she picks sides.

What can we expect for?

Conflict and drama—the two reasons we sit through shows about people we don’t know, living lives we really don’t care about.

There’s no love lost between Tami and Evelyn, obviously. We all remember Evelyn’s ill-timed comment about Tami’s ex, resulting in the even more ill-advised “non-factor!” comment.

Jennifer and Tami may still have some lingering issues after Jennifer’s high and mighty attitude towards stamps. Last season, Jennifer also made it clear her marriage with Eric Williams was headed to divorce court.

Expect her friends to push her back into the dating game.

And, of course, another season of “Basketball Wives” means more Chad Ochocinco. Evelyn is engaged to the NFL wide receiver, and we all know Chad’s never met a camera he didn’t like. Expect Ocho to get plenty of screen time.
