Apple Sets iPad 3 Launch Event on March 7: Third-generation iPad Tablet on the Way Now

“We have something you really have to see. And touch,” read the invitation, which continues Apple’s tradition of keeping its invitation text cryptic.

As rumors expected, Apple has sent out invitations to the media for an event next Wednesday, March 7, where it’s expected to launch the next iPad. Part of an iPad screen is showed on the invitation background, with a finger poised over the Calendar app, which is set to March 7. If the background is a photograph of the iPad 3 and not digitally manipulated, it hints that the tablet will not sport a physical home button, as have earlier iPads.

Focus on iPad 3 lunch event:
1. iPad 3 Specification true or not
The most likely function of iPad 3 is “Retina” HD screen which doubles iPad 2 screen resolution, up to 2048×1536. The screen upgrade and 4G LTE network connection will lead to a thicker body than iPad 2. As to processor, Apple observers expect iPad 3 will adopt quad-core A6 processor or dual-core A5X processor.

2. Whether Home button is disappear
In the letter of invitation Apple sent, a small part of iPad body shows up. The exciting point is that the image shows no Home button on iPad 3. But it is also probably that Apple only shows the profile of this device so the circular Home button on the glass panel can not be seen.

3. Whether iPad 3 supports Siri
Earlier reports said that iPad 3 will support Siri speech assistant function. But then the story does not appear again, we don’t know whether it can become a reality.

4. iPad 2 price-off promotion
The Best Buy has cut $50 off iPad 2 of different versions. Apple has also cut $100 off the first generation iPad last year after the release of iPad 2. So if the new iPad makes a debut, Apple retail stores will take the lead to cut $100 off iPad 2.

5. Other products, Apple TV or iPod
Apple TV set-top box has been sold out in Best Buy and it will not be sold in Walmart, so the market predicts that Apple is going to release a new Apple TV so as to replace the old one. The new product may support 1080p video content.
In addition, iPod players are on sales promotion in Best Buy. Although the outside world does not pay much attention to iPod and Apple has never updated iPod since September 2010, it is possible that a new iPod will be released during iPad 3 lunch event.

iPad 3 prices, on-sale dates and naming are likely to be disclosed March 7, let’s wait and see.

Apple iPad 3 VS. iPad 2: Feature, Design and Price

With the upcoming of the rumor release date, images about iPad 3 are flooding over the internet frequently. In addition to the released iPad 3 display and processor, there are many contrastive pictures about iPad 3 and iPad 2. As it used to be said, iPad 3 is a little bit thicker than iPad 2, and Macbook Air wedge design is introduced to its appearance design.

Two generation iPad bodies contrast
Seen from the contrast pictures, Apple iPad 3 is really thicker than iPad 2 and the reason lies in that Macbook Air Wedge design has been introduced to it. The difference is more noticeable in some edge part especially. The thickness difference between the two generation iPad is around 1—1.5mm which is almost the same as the rumor said.
In addition, the iPad 3 camera aperture diameter is increased which means that there will be an improvement and upgrade on its camera specification. However, according to the analysis Apple will not apply 8-million-pixel camera to it due to the expensive cost. But there is no doubt that camera effect will be improved.

Front glass panel leaked
Based on the picture leaked, there are no many differences between this glass panel and components of iPad 2, and the only difference lies in the cable parts on the top of the display. And drawn from this panel we can say that iPad 3 positive main design including the round primary key, front-facing camera and light sensor will adopt the previous configuration. And according to the information received before, Apple iPad 3 will be equipped with 9.7-inch retina touch screen, and the resolution support is two times of the past, that is to say, it will be upgraded from 1027 x 768 pixels to 2048 x 1536 pixels.

iPad 2S maybe
Despite the rumors that Apple iPad 3 will adopt quad-core A6 processor, but from the leaked information on main board, the next generation Apple tablet does not use the so-called A6 processor but A5 upgrade version A5X S5L8945X. And news from Foxconn reveals that iPad 3 processor specification will be dual-core ARM CORTE X-A9 W/SMP 950Mhz and this probably means that Apple iPad 3 employs 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Therefore, people say that the new generation iPad will be named as iPad 2S but not iPad 3.

Three versions
Whether it is iPad 3 or iPad 2S, RAM will be upgraded to 1GB and will use the same GPU as iPhone 4S. As to wireless network, LTE 4G network support is added to it. Apple will increase the built-in battery capacity in order to reach more ideal endurance ability.
And according to reliable sources, Apple iPad 3 or iPad 2S will be provided with three capacity versions for options: 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. And for the sake of the increase of hardware cost, the WiFi version will be more expensive: $579, $679 and $779. And WiFi+3G version will be $699, $799, and $899.

Apple iPad 3 IS Going to Feature with Retina Display: Rumor Stems from iOS 5 Images

Based on the HD screenshots of iOS 5 from a blog, it is supposed that Apple’s iPad 3 could feature a high-resolution retina display. Rumors of a high-resolution “Retina Display” for Apple’s next iPad, never far from the surface, came roaring back after the blog posted screenshots of some extra-large images in iOS 5, the upcoming mobile operating system for Apple mobile devices.

Apple will release iOS 5 sometime this fall. It is a broad-based update: in addition to Newsstand, new features include a refined notifications screen, boosted interoperability with Twitter, and an “iMessenger” conversation platform seemingly designed as a direct competitor to BlackBerry Messenger. Other sources have been reporting that Apple is prepping its next iPad with a higher-resolution screen. On June 14, Reuters paraphrased Taiwan’s Economic Daily as saying the iPad 3 would launch in the fourth quarter with an “image resolution 5-6 times higher than iPad 2.”

That being said, other rumors have pushed back against the idea of a late-2011 release for the iPad 3. In an April report, the publication DigiTimes quoted unnamed “upstream component makers” as saying that Apple was still deciding on possible panels for future tablets, with any resulting products “unlikely” to make a showing in 2011.Any iPad 3 theories contribute to what’s already a media-fueled furnace of scuttlebutt over everything iPad-related. Apple’s lack of official word on its upcoming product has a way of working analysts and bloggers into a speculative froth. In the months ahead of each iPad’s successive unveiling, the blogosphere typically buzzes with “news” and rumors of possible features and form-factors—many of which, inevitably turn out to be wrong.

One of the stronger rumors, however, has centered on a high-resolution display for the iPad 3. But even then, whether the screenshots are harbingers of such a hardware feature remains to be seen. But if the iPad 3 is really equipped with Retina Display, it will be awesome to enjoy movie videos on iPad 3.
